Installation of Physics Society at Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar College, Nagpur

Achievement

It was an absolute delight & pleasure to be a part of the installation ceremony of the PHYSICS SOCIETY at the Department of Physics, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar College, Nagpur. Under the leadership of Principal, Dr A B Mehare and headship of Prof Arti Wazalwar along with the faculty members witnessed a nicely coordinated programme by the UG and PG students. Students’ participation was a central theme wherein students played a role to be master of ceremony, informed audiences of amazing facts of Physics, and the work of Noble laureates played a skit. Publication of Physics Magazine, appreciation of the achievements of Students and Faculty during the last academic year, and Vote of thanks followed by National Anthem were arranged in sequence.

My (Prof. S. W. Anwane) deliberation was on “Conflict of Principles” which focused to highlight the large-scale complementarity of deeply rooted principles – Einstein’s Equivalence Principle and Principle of Information Conservation. The discussion involved went through the monumental discovery in Physics of 20th Century by Stephen Hawking, which involved establishing the Entropy of the Black Hole. After two years of COVID-19 situations, it was a delightful experience in all.
