Course Overview: This 15-week course is designed to equip students, researchers, and faculty with a foundational understanding of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR). The course covers various aspects of patents, copyrights, trademarks, and other intellectual property domains, providing a comprehensive insight into the world of innovation protection.
Course Objectives:
- Provide a foundational understanding of Intellectual Property Rights.
- Share knowledge on patents, both in the Indian and international contexts.
- Disseminate information about copyrights and their registration procedures.
- Convey insights into trademarks and the processes involved in trademark registration.
- Impart knowledge on Design, Geographical Indication (GI), Plant Variety, and Layout Design Protection.
- Raise awareness about current trends in IPR and government initiatives promoting it.
Course Structure:
- Duration: 15 weeks
- Lectures: Weekly 3 lectures
- Examination: In April, based on Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs)
Certification:
1. University Certified (For Shivaji Science College Students):
- Eligibility: Any UG or PG student from Shivaji Science College
- Certification: Students will receive a certificate from RTM Nagpur University upon successful completion.
2. College Level (For External Students, Research Scholars, and Faculty):
- Eligibility: Open to students, research scholars, and faculty from other institutions.
- Certification: Participants will receive a certificate from Shivaji Science College Nagpur upon successful completion.
