1 Dr. Sharyu Ghonmode Developmental changes in the silkgland of the tasar silkworm, Antheraea mylitta,(Lepidoptera; Saturniidae)(Drury) The proposed study will first time explore the study of developmental changes from 1st to 5th instar larvae together with the effect of starvation, photoperiod and humidity on the development and secretory activity of the silkgland which may play a key role in promoting biotechnology of the tasar silkworm, Antheraea mylitta and flourishing the tasar sericulture industry in India since no attemps have been made in this area. The present study will hence fill certain lacunae from the earlier studies. April 2010 UGC 95000 two (02) years
2 Dr. SEEMA KADU STUDY ON SPECIES RICHNESS AND DIVERSITY OF ANTS (HYMENOPTERA: FORMICIDAE) IN NAGPUR CITY (M.S., INDIA) Minor Project- The richness of ant fauna in tropical urban regions like in vidarbha are the recognized global hot spots of biodiversity of ants in India for which spatial distribution patterns and the factors that influence species richness and abundance along environmental gradients needs to study in details. The diversity of ants has to study along the biotic and abiotic factors that influence species richness. 31-05-2014 UGC 330000 2 Years
3 Dr. Atul Bobdey "Exploration and Inventorization of Fish-diversity in District Bhandara (M.S.) India and Preparation of Digital database All the area of Bhandara district is selected as a study area. 35 sites are selected including the rivers, lakes, ponds and dam/reservoir. Along each 35 to 50 kilometers the sites are selected around the area of district, however 5 sites in the middle area of the district are explored to collect the specimens. * Most of the fish caught is transferred to the market of Nagpur district, hence the fishes are also observed and collected during the loading of fishes in lorries. * The physic-chemical parameters are studied at the fields with the help of digital portable water analysis kit. * The standard physico chemical methods for monitoring water and waste water given by APHA are used. *The photography of collected fish samples is done by using red satin paper with plotting the scale on it. Nicon D-SLR camera with zoom 55to 105 is used. For printing Epson L-800 photo printer is used with glossy photographic paper. * Habitat photography is done with the same equipment. The photography during summer in less water condition gives the idea of levels water contamination and it sources can be clearly observed. * Four wheeler car is used to travel in the study area to save the time and for harvesting more data during each travel. * Preparation and Supply of Video compact disc of data and results to the village administration authorities (in their regional languages) 2012-2013 University Grants Commission, New Delhi 980000 3 years
