Carrer Oriented Course (CoC)
Mathematical Modeling using Maple funded by UGC, New Delhi
The college commenced Certificate Course – Mathematical Modeling using Maple funded by UGC, New Delhi under Career Oriented Course vide letter F. No. 4-165/2011 Feb 2012. (Seed Money approved 10 Lacs and Grant released Rs 9 Lacs). The course commenced from 2013-14 academic session after the syllabus was approved by RTM Nagpur University. The classroom teaching and practical (programme execution) was conducted as per the syllabus scheme approved by RTM Nagpur University, Nagpur. During SEVEN academic years from 2013-14 to 2019-20, CERTIFICATE, and DIPLOMA course was conducted to award certificate to 266 students. The year-wise details of the activity conducted are as following.
- In 2013-14 academic year 24 students were enrolled on merit basis. All 24 Students qualified in the examination. (08 in Grade A, 16 students Grade B)
- In 2014-15 academic year 19 students were enrolled on merit basis. All 19 Students qualified in the examination. (18 in Grade A, 01 students Grade B)
- In 2015-16 academic year 15 students were enrolled on merit basis. All 15 Students qualified in the examination. (15 in Grade A)
- In 2016-17 academic year 11 students were enrolled on merit basis. All 11 Students qualified in the examination. (15 in Grade A)
- In 2017-18 academic year 15+17=32 students were enrolled on merit basis. All 32 Students qualified in the examination. (21 in Grade A, 01 students Grade B)
- In 2018-19 academic year 17+27=44 students were enrolled on merit basis. All 44 Students qualified in the examination. (44 in Grade A)
- In 2019-20 academic year 100 students were enrolled on merit basis. All 100 Students qualified in the examination. (100 in Grade A)
Dr. S W Anwane, Professor & Head is Nominated on the Board of MAPLE Ambassador for SAARC region to inspire and educate others about the benefits that Maple brings to STEM Education since 2018.

Shri Shivaji Science College, NAGPUR is running a University Grants Commission Sponsored add-on Career Oriented Course (CoC) Mathematical Modeling using Maple for students undergoing B Sc programme. The 3rd batch which qualified this certificate course during academic year 2015-16 were awarded with Certificates on the on 70th Independence day at the hands of Principal. It is worth to mention that in preceding years 2013-14, 23 students 2014-15, 19 students qualified the Certificate Course in Mathematical Modeling Using Maple.

Shri Shivaji Science College, NAGPUR is running a University Grants Commission Sponsored add-on Career Oriented Course (CoC) Mathematical Modeling using Maple for students undergoing B Sc programme. In the 4th batch 11 students qualified this DIPLOMA course and 17 students qualified CERTIFICATE course during academic year 2016-17 were conferred with Certificates on the on 71th Independence day at the hands of Vice-Principal Dr G R Avachar. It is worth to mention that in students are keen in learning new approach on the theme-line of University Grants Commission through the add-on Course in Mathematical Modeling Using Maple. Principal Dr D K Burghate appreciated students for their extra-curricular interest and congratulated them of their achievements and appreciated efforts of the faculty of Department of Physics.

It is worth to mention that students are keen on learning a new approach on the theme-line of the University Grants Commission through the add-on Course in Mathematical Modeling Using Maple. Principal Dr M P Dhore appreciated students for their extra-curricular interest and congratulated them of their achievements and appreciated efforts of the faculty of the Department of Physics.
In academic session 2019-20, we plan to reach to maximum students for this Career Oriented Course (CoC) in the form of MAPLE Flipped Classroom. We have uploaded Lectures for Career Oriented Course on YouTube which the students can view before reporting Maple Laboratory for hands-on experience. During college working hours this Lab will remain open for students.
