Junior College

Our college popularly known as Shivaji Science College, Nagpur is one of the 269 institutions run by Shri Shivaji Education Society, Amravati. The society was founded by former Union Agriculture Minister Hon’ble Dr. Panjabrao alias Bhausaheb Deshmukh in the year 1932, with the aim of imparting education of the rural strata of society in Vidarbha region “Tamso ma Jyotirgmaya”(Lead from darkness to light) is the mission of society.

It is the only college in the Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur with Five StarAccreditation by NAAC Banglore in the year 2002 and reaccredited with grade “A+” with CGPA 3.51 out of 4which is highest in entire Nagpur region, Accredited “A” Grade Jr. College by SAAC, Maharashtra State Board and College with Potential for Excellence by UGC, New Delhi.

The Junior College was started in the college from 1975. This unit also recorded tremendous progress right from its inception. The progress was so rapid and remarkable that the college is now recognized as one of the best college in the entire State of Maharashtra. It has become the first choice of student in the region. Many of our students from this unit topped in Vidarbha as well as in Maharashtra in various categories like General Merit List, Vocational Stream Merit List, Science Stream Merit List, Backward Categories Candidates, Girl students and the individual subjects.

Some of our students are also topped in the state. The college has record of the highest number of merit position in the Board Examination. This was the outcome of “Shivaji Pattern” a unique process of training the students from all angles. It is also involves participation of parents/guardians in the development of students.
